Sugar Shack® Buttonbush brings the playful, unmistakable look of buttonbush into a size that fits far more home landscapes. Instead of the much larger habit of the straight species, this compact selection stays manageable while still delivering the same globe-shaped flowers, glossy foliage, and strong wildlife value that make buttonbush such a standout native shrub.
The summer flowers are unlike almost anything else in the landscape.
In early to mid-summer, Sugar Shack® Buttonbush produces fragrant white flower heads that look like tiny pincushions or floating spheres. The blooms are unusual enough to stop people in their tracks, and they add a fresh, whimsical look to mixed borders and native gardens. Their sweet fragrance and nectar-rich structure also make them highly attractive to pollinators.
Red fruit keeps the show going into fall.
